Design Review

Water Column

In general

The idea is to use this column to level out the temperature of the room throughout the day

What material to build it with

Research

See provided sites from Dr Schuster to research heat capabilities

Many models assume the column is in lots of direct sunlight

Depends on how much sun and heat is available

Size

Whatever will fit in the building

Experiment with calculations to figure out the optimum size

Stratification of the building

Can this problem be fixed by a ceiling fan?

Alternative solution

Small pipe with small fans to pump air in to the panel from the floor

Try talking to the manufacturer about solving this issue

Battery Backup

For partially cloudy day

May be too expensive for the little benefit to the system

How to control the system

Covers for the panels to shut them off

Ceiling vents

Natural ventilation
